Founders - Julia Quinlan
 |
Julia Quinlan is the President
and Co-founder of Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice.
Together with her late husband Joseph T. Quinlan
she opened the hospice in 1980 in loving memory
of their daughter Karen Ann. During these last
three decades, Julia has selflessly dedicated
herself to ensuring dignified, comforting care
for terminally ill patients and their families. |
Julia’s enduring spirit lives in our
community; however it is shared wherever she is needed. She
still serves as Chairman of the board of governors of the Karen
Ann Quinlan Hospice; she is enlisted in speaking engagements
around the country, and does so tirelessly and with a quiet
courage that today educates and enlightens all of us on the
topic of dying surrounded by love and dignity. She has received
numerous awards for her advocacy on behalf of hospice and is the
co-author of Karen Ann (Doubleday), and the author of
My Joy, My Sorrow (St Anthony Messenger Press), which was
released in July 2005. She is currently working on a third book.
To continue her mission of spreading the work of hospice and the
history of the landmark case, Karen Ann Quinlan Memorial
Foundation is always pleased to extend an invitation to your
agency or organization to have Julia Quinlan speak at one of
your events. Please call the office of Marketing and Advancement
at Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice at (800) 883-1117 or
contact us through this website for
more information or requests.
Julia Quinlan is a living testament to a durable strength of
character that has not wavered in leading the Karen Ann Quinlan
Memorial Foundation and all of its programs.
